Description:

This official mapping application, developed by the Cadastre & Topography Administration (ACT) of Luxembourg’s national geoportal, provides users with comprehensive access to a variety of geographic datasets.

The app allows for the visualization of topographic maps, aerial imagery, cadastral parcels, and numerous other datasets relevant to Luxembourg from a mobile device environment.

<ul>
<li>Search Capabilities: Users can perform searches by place names, toponyms, parcel numbers, and coordinates.</li>
<li>Data Layers: Access to more than 100 different data layers as available on the official website (<a href="http://map.geoportal.lu" target="_blank">map.geoportal.lu</a>).</li>
<li>Map Sharing: Supports sharing of map views with other users.</li>
<li>Offline Mode: Enables downloading specific zones for offline use. Active layers within the selected area remain accessible without internet connectivity, ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking in regions without coverage. This feature facilitates map download via Wi-Fi, reducing mobile data usage and avoiding extra charges.</li>
</ul>

Additional features include:

<li>Access to detailed trail information</li>
<li>Visualization of elevation profiles</li>
<li>Create and mark points of interest (POIs) using GPS or coordinate inputs — suitable for activities like geocaching or inventory management</li>
<li>Export of GPX and KML files for further analysis or sharing</li>
</ul>

Note: Continuous use of GPS running in the background may significantly decrease device battery life. Similarly, using the app online could incur unexpected data charges due to high download traffic.
